Become  equipped with the essential skills to provide evidence-based, safe and effective woman-centred care that supports all  women through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

With a focus on primary health care and continuity of care, you will develop an understanding of midwifery models to enable you to apply theory into your daily midwifery practice.

Through our innovative work-integrated learning experiences, you’ll graduate ready to play a pivotal role in providing culturally safe midwifery care to all women, babies, their families and the community.

Graduate-job ready after 3 years of supervised midwifery practice experience across antenatal, labour and birth and postnatal care in various practice settings.

Strong industry connections

Ö±²¥ÍÑÒ partners with ACT Health and Southern NSW maternity facilities. Settings include Centenary Hospital for Women and Children, North Canberra Hospital and Queanbeyan Hospital

With limited places on offer, our smaller, personalised classes and comprehensive midwifery practice experiences facilitates a focused student journey that  supports individual learning styles and needs.

Professional recognition

The course is professionally accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Graduates are eligible to apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and practice as midwife.

Please note: The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia has developed a set of registration standards that define the requirements that applicants, registrants or students need to meet to be registered. Core standards cover criminal history, English language skills, continuing professional development, recency of practice and professional indemnity insurance arrangements.
